Alexander Emerick Jones is an American radio, television and internet host based in Austin, Texas.
Jones was accused of defamation for allegedly lying to his InfoWars audience about the events of the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting. The plaintiffs - parents of several of the children killed in the incident - allege that Jones “lied and attacked the parents of murdered children” while describing the shooting as a hoax.[1] He was further accused of failing to respond to court orders and turn over documents, leading to courts in Texas and Connecticut to issue default judgements against him, suspending his right to a jury trial.[2]
A documentary about Jones titled Alex's War was released on July 29, 2022, directed by Alex Lee Moyer.[3] While Jones is the subject of the film, he did not take part in its production.
Jones' Twitter account was reinstated by Elon Musk on December 10, 2023.[4]
