The American Society of Gene & Cell Therapy (ASGCT) is an American non-profit organization based in Waukesha, Wisconsin.
ASGCT launched its official journal, Molecular Therapy, in January 2000. Inder Verma served as founding editor-in-chief.[1]
On November 17, 2020, ASGCT published an article titled "COVID-19 Vaccine Candidates Show Gene Therapy is a Viable Strategy," declaring that "findings from Moderna and Pfizer demonstrate that gene therapy is a viable strategy for developing vaccines to combat COVID-19."[2]
On December 30, 2020, ASGCT uploaded a video to YouTube titled "mRNA vaccines for COVID-19." The description disclosed funding from Pfizer for creation of the video's subtitles.[3] A second video funded by Pfizer was uploaded on April 7, 2021, titled "Adenovirus-Based Vaccine for COVID-19."[4]
