Alberta Health Services (AHS) is a Canadian public health agency of the Government of Alberta. It operates under the Alberta Ministry of Health.
On June 1, 2023, AHS distributed an internal memo announcing that Deena Hinshaw had been hired as their Indigenous Wellness Core Public Health & Preventive Medicine Lead.[1]
On June 13, 2023, Patrick Heinsen of Borden Ladner Gervais (BLG) sent Dr. Daniel Nagase a letter on behalf of AHS demanding he remove his Substack articles titled "A deadly day in the ER: My thoughts on a patient’s deadly ER visit" and "The Difference Between Negligence and Homicide: a process in thought".[2] AHS legal counsel Sarah Louw was also copied on the e-mail.[3]
