The Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA) is an agency of the United States Federal Government responsible for the procurement and development of medical countermeasures. Its areas of focus include defending against chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear threats, as well as infectious diseases and pandemic preparedness.[1]
BARDA reports to the Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response (ASPR) within the United States Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).
