The New York Times Company is an American news publisher based in Manhattan, New York. It is the owner and publisher of The New York Times. The company has been controlled by the Sulzberger family since Adolph Ochs purchased it in 1896.[1]
Adolph Ochs purchased the New York Times in 1896 for $75,000 and formed the New York Times Company.[1:1][2]
In August 2022, ValueAct Capital acquired a 7% stake in the NYT Company.[3]
The NYT Company is a partner organization of the World Economic Forum (WEF).[4]
